Uma breve analise sobre o movimento “VIDAS PRETAS IMPORTAM” / A brief analysis of the movement "BLACK LIVES MATTER"

Abstract

the aim of this search was to describe and analyse the prejudice and racism faced by black people. It presents developments since the 19th century. More specifically, we aim to show how black was considered and treated at the beginning and how it is happening today; whether black has an influence on Brazilian culture; what anti-racism movements exist in the current days; what events have contributed to these movements. This search is really relevant. First, because it allows a critical reading of the object being studied. Second, he stressed the importance of reflecting on the role of black in Brazilian culture and the various forms of ethnic racial inequality present in our society. In fact, the large part of the population still sees black in an inferred way. This is because, in the midst century, it has not yet unveiled a slave mentality. We can say that the abolition of slavery did not lead to the inclusion of black in our country, as it is clear that this group is still stigmatised by white. It can be concluded that there are currently anti-racism movements, among them: international Black Lives Matter movement, or in a free translation “Vidas Negras Importtam”, which started in the United States has gained more force also in Brazil.
