Le construit-déconstruit des âges de la vie

Abstract

`titrebThe constructed-deconstructed dimension of the different ages in life`/titrebThe concept of ages in life is a social construct developed in various ways over the centuries. Contemporary developments (extending life expectancy, technologisation of existence, fragmentation of professional life, mobility, family recomposition...) transform and reshape the way existence is divided up. The author proposes an overview of the situation identifying some of the most significant among recent breaks with the past and their paradoxical consequences : blurring of age, age conflicts, intergenerational solidarity, deconstruction and recomposition of segments in life stages, reconfiguration of roles... that can recommend the term “life pathways” rather than “ages in life”. Finally, the author discusses the role and place of Christian theology in these changes and especially in light of the transhumanist prospects that challenge theology.
