Abstract

This monograph number of Chasqui aims to be a modest scoping exercise with which to confront various questions in order to contribute to a process of change in the Communology from different levels of analysis and in relation to various communication components. A totalising view is needed; and, if necessary, learn from the sociological emergencies observed throughout Latin America and the Caribbean from the women’s movement, LGTBI groups and minorities who claim a way of living together in the world from diversity and difference, without abandoning a policy of self-representation, which today is evaded by the Mainstream media and, above all, the academy, for lack of reflection and no responsibility for their mediating role as organic intellectuals. Let’s wait for the same thing, with contributions from this issue, to open a window to explore other possibilities in the field.
