Abstract
Apprehender what leads some parents to delegate custody of their children and women to become nursery assistants or nursery professionals means understanding the meaning they attribute to what they have received from their relatives in the ascending line and which they will try to give in turn to their children and/or those they keep. Donation and debt dynamics support this seldom identical transmission. At the centre of that court is the child whose aim is to provide a normative image of the ‘good mother’. Indeed, the daily care of children remains a story of women. This book is an innovative summary of a topic that is rarely addressed.
