Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze the existence of links between mother’s family quality of life having a child with disabilities and their representation towards their parenting, their children, and their affects linked to children’s representation. Our sample is composed of 34 mothers with a child with disabilities, aged 11 to 55 months. The results reveal that more mothers are satisfied with their family quality of life, more their children’s perceptions are rewarding. They also describe themselves as more satisfied in their role as mothers and say they feel more positive emotions, joy and pride. On the contrary, when mothers express a significant negative impact on family life, they are more focused on the child’s difficulties. Then, they perceive themselves as more concerned and feel more guilt, sadness, anxiety and fear when they are with their child or think of him.
