Political violence, forced migration, trauma and reconstruction in Turkish Kurds

Abstract

`titrebPolitical Violence, forced migration, trauma and rebuilding: the example of the Kurds of Turkey`/titrebTurkey is a very young Republic ; even so, it was the cradle of very important immigrations and emigrations on its grounds. After the years 1980s, the conflict which survives in the east of the country causes an immigration forced of the population, who touched by violence. This study concerns the mental health of Kurdish migrants who migrated from Turkey towards Europe (France). According to the results, we can note that the Kurdish migrants lived several forced migrations; on the first time immigrants leaved the Kurdish region towards Turkish metropolises and at the finally as last remedy they decided to flee abroad (especially England, Germany, and France). The trauma is historical and cumulative among migrants and the forced migration is the last circle which is added to its traumas former. In more the lived traumas became another point common between them, which bring together Kurdish population in exile, therefore the trauma became an integral part of their identities in the migratory context.
