self-translation emerged from Translation Studies as an academic discipline. There is no empirical or descriptive research in the field of DTS dealing with self-translation, nor is it even mentioned in the academic discourse of translation studies. However, editors, literary critics and academics often ignore the fact that a translation has been produced by the author himself, once the work was published in the original language. Why is there a gap as in translation studies?
