Abstract
national audience questioning the dynamics of developments over the long period of the various cotton policies in Dahomey (now Benin in 1975), this article mobilises the theoretical path dependence approach to reflect the corresponding institutional dynamics. On the basis of this theoretical approach, the article identifies four intervals on the basis of the choices made during critical moments. An analysis of the trajectory of these cotton policies reveals a series of breaks and continuity of track-side dependencies which have punctured different institutional models.
