Bodybuilding is a sport that consists in developing the muscle mass for aesthetic purposes. Literally, body-building is synonymous with construction of the body. This aesthetic construction requires a strategic organized planned timetable. This lifestyle leads the bodybuilder to build up for itself and forge an ideal body in compliance with the requirements of this practice.This research is located in today’s Lebanon, which has experiencing knows political instability since the end of the civil war (1975-1990). The Lebanese teenager seems to be at the heart of the hypercomplex situation since he is struggling from an internal conflict. The internal stems from body-hatred and shame. Whereas the external is rather related to the political and sociocultural context. The adolescence, is also the age of physical transformations which modify the self-image and the body-image of the young boy. The feeling of identity is affected because the teenagers perceive the transformations as a burglary which threaten the narcissistic integrity and the feeling to exist. Consequently, this sense of uneasiness transforms bodybuilding into an act of sublimation, creativity. It also becomes a peculiar collective symptom pertaining to the specific Lebanese context. In our research we leaned on various clinical tools, the semi-directive interviews with the young teenagers of various confessions as well as the signing of the projective tests as Rorschach and TAT.
