Abstract
The LGBTQI + public in Brazil has historically been the target of violence. This brutality is perpetuated throughout the social, political, economic and cultural life of these people, who have lived the faces of LGBTQI + phobia since childhood. This is of utmost importance, as it represents a further dominance of the capitalist system in which we are part. There is therefore a need for an analysis of the origins of this violence. This objective work looks at violence against LGBTQI + people, as an expression of the social issue. To achieve this objective, this study follows a qualitative approach in the context of an exploratory and analytical literature search. From the data obtained, it has been realised that violence against LGBTQI + people is a further facet of gênery oppression. It should be noted that such a search will allow reflections on the topic and favour the decriminalisation of the LGBTQI + community.
