Abstract
International audience This article aims to explain the adoption of new varieties of tomato seeds by farmers contractually linked to the tomato processing company CAB in Algeria. A logit model with qualitative dependent variables is estimated in order to determine the effects of these factors. The empirical results show that the adoption of hybrid varieties by farmers is mainly affected by vertical integration, professional network, experience and productivity.
