Abstract
This article reconstructs the specific plot in which the categoriamujer struck Argentinian psychology, in a peculiar movement between civil society and the State. From the focus of the critical history of psychology to the input from recent history, the reception process that took place on the local stage, when the human rights agenda intersects with the feminist ideary, is analysed. It analyses how gender-based violence was included in the government agenda, in feminist activism spaces and in the theoretical production of psychology. We report on the solidarity and differences between these areas, highlighting the representative and valuation structures involved in the uses of different categories.
