Abstract
In light of the proposal by Antonio Candido, in "The dialectics of roguery," and John Cezar de Castro Rocha in "The dialectics of marginality", this study intends to present the figure of the Brazilian trickster parallel to the marginal of society post -modern, through the work City of God (2002), writer Paulo Lins. Then if you want to compare this marginal with Colombian hitman represented in the work La virgen de los bravos (2008) by Fernando Vallejo. It is intended, therefore, to reflect on representations of violence through the paths of the protagonists of both works, discussing the structure of these texts - in this case, the fait divers Barthes in City of God and kitsch, La Virgen de los sicarios (2008 ) - in order to seek an answer to this violence portrayed, in addition to reflecting on the reception of these works by the contemporary reader.
