Impact of wearable devices on health monitoring

Abstract

Fil: Corti, Sebastian. University of San Andrés. School of Administration and Business; Argentina. “A large number of technology companies consider wearable devices to be simply the next wave of smartphones. However, this vision could be said to be limited, as it could play a key role in fostering greater connectivity and in the development of the Internet of Things, interacting with smart spaces through these devices. Start-ups are feeding the market with innovative ideas and creative uses, but are not addressing other important issues such as security, privacy and consumer needs. It builds on the work carried out by Beecham Reasearch where it establishes a framework for evaluating products that are analysed from different angles (Romeo, Duke-Woolley, 2014). The work is organised in five chapters. Chapter 1 corresponds to the presentation of the subject of the study. Chapter 2 provides a brief analysis of the context and its historical evolution, continues with an analysis of these devices with Big Data, and concludes with their privacy and security. Chapter 3 reviews the various wearable health devices and analyses of the industry. Chapter 4 mentions the impact on health monitoring in Argentina and concludes in Chapter 5 with a conclusion.”
