The idea of young people in Chile in the 20th century. Genealogical approximation to the speech of youth magazines

The text presents preliminary results of research on the historical construction of the idea of youth in Chilean magazines in the period 1900-1940. To this end, the article presents the communication context of youth magazines, the youth identities recognisable in the early decades of the 20th century and the youth regimes that start to shape. We provisionally concluded some issues linked to the process of semi-otic stability of the idea of youth and the role that images, specifically advertising ones, play in building the youth.
