Abstract
In West Africa, men meet the intimate needs of the population by receiving them for consultation. The solutions they offer include, but not exclusively, the production of writing talismans. Their origin is not in Africa, but in the Arab Muslim world. The most common models are those of al-Bûne (m. 1225).
