Abstract

this book offers a course of observation and reflection on bilingualism through the language practices of a French-Finnish child between the ages of 1 and 5. The recording of a large number of statements produced by the child serves as a basis for this study, which focuses on several points: (1) the presentation of some concepts related to bilingualism, language acquisition in bilingual children, etc.; (2) the discription of statements produced by the child; (3) the evolution and causes of language mixtures; (4) meta-linguistic activities related to bilingualism.
