Abstract

At the end of primary school, to prepare for the college geometry which is based on properties, it is important that pupils do activities which permit them to see geometric figures as a set of points and straight lines, rather than some figure pieces (like Tangram). The teacher has to help pupils change their vision on geometric figures. He can use the reproduction activities created by Keskessa, Perrin-Glorian and Delplace (2007) which involve, to be managed, this change of view. These activities are motivating for pupils because they can observe their own improvement during lessons. The teacher has to adapt his help depending on pupils needs ; actually, this change of view is more or less quick and easy. Differentiation can happen at several levels : type of given figures, geometric instruments which are allowed, helps given by other pupils or by the teacher.
