International audience In this presentation, we will study the recurring automobile congestion in relation to morning peak periods, caused by the synchronisation of the multiple social temporalities giving rhythm to an area, with the study of a business park located in the outskirts of Rennes (Bretagne, France). We will mainly focus on the possibilities available to the public administration to mitigate this phenomenon, by resorting to peak smoothing temporal policies (staggering of trip hours). Our presentation will be organised in three main parts: an ex ante evaluation of the potential of such policies to reduce trips duration (1), an analysis of the particularities of the studied area, individual-wise but also firm-wise, that tend to perpetuate trips’ synchronisation (2) and a discussion about the policies actually worth considering and considered by the public administration to mitigate the congestion phenomenon in the studied area, and especially on the ways to implement them (3).
