Abstract
`titrebSummary`/titrebIt is as « society fact », even as « news item » that violence set itself recently on second thought sociologists, anthropologists, educators and psychologists. In these studies and inquiries, it seems that violence is mainly (otherwise exclusively) envisaged either as a dysharmonique phenomenon that it is advisable to warn, to look, to eradicate, or as symptom, but to listen as the sign of a social pathology. The present study attempts less to pass judgment on violence that to try to make a problem of it for the psychoanalysis, and envisage its specificity towards related categories – aggressiveness, drive of aggression, drive of destruction, drive of death – its symbolic and imaginary coordinates, the enjoyments in the service of which it operates, and especially its function(s) towards the subject and towards the social link. A clinical approach is required to put in evidence the forms of violence and its modalities in the contemporary social link. Our study shows that violence is électivement done to the « Child », the « Woman » or the « Foreigner » (in the city), that is to figures of otherness, figures of the symptom as function of nouage.
