Abstract
The Federal Council of Culture (CFC) was the main body responsible for cultural policies between 1967 and 1975. The CFC was made up of 24 intellectuals with the aim of organising the cul — Tural sector and drawing up the novelty plan for culture. The creation of the Council has been integrated with the involvement of these in — telectuals in the Brazilian political and cultural field since the 1920s. In addition, their in-body speeches and projects — were the civic ideary in the civil-military dictatorship (1964-1985). Among the CFC’s actions, the creation of annual cultural calendars aimed at establishing — teaching and culture — an attempt to enhance the civic elements of national culture. The success — citing memory and history — is reflected here in the relationship between memo — historical and civic practice, so much uses — of authoritarian times.
