Didactic of French. For a contextualised and explicit approach to language at school

Abstract

Based on the findings (terrain and supporting texts) and French and the other languages of the pupils are often the subject of a reductive vision in teaching, and even more so the oral expression that is only known and reduced to the oralisation of a school writing, this book offers three levels of intervention among teachers. The first level is a clear and solid summary of scientific knowledge about the functioning of the oral in particular and sociolinguistic skills in general, which can be transposed into the classroom. The second is the concrete and detailed presentation of an innovative educational scheme that has successfully transformed the teaching and learning of French in schools classified as ZEP/REP in Toulon: the School Paroles project. From the teaching sheets to the assessment of the effects by teachers, every effort is made to take ownership of the issues at stake and the practical arrangements. Finally, the third level is an exemplary case of an actional approach to language teaching (here, French, correlated with other languages), in which the achievements of Freinet pedagogy and the ethical principles of education that are respectful of the individual pupil, their educational success, socialisation, autonomy, respect for others and their future. It is a book that has been able to find a fair, forward-looking and constructive tone between living testimonies, professional discourse and major educational purposes (Philippe Blanchet, 4th cover)
