Abstract
this test shows prosodists’ attempts to rate (score) the rate of poetry, including using rating systems borrowed from diatonic harmony. The rating has two contradictory impulses: the recording of a vote as a pre-existing vote, and the subsequent voting generation. In addition, it introduces a set of disjunctions between the body of the voices which are rated or interpret the notation, and the body of the mark as a visual sign, while pointing towards reconciliation. The call for music is becoming a means of regulating these tensions at the same time as trying to evacuate the rhythm that traditional scansion has never been able to deliver justice.
