Abstract
The site of Lesménils, which was discovered during construction of the Paris/Strasbourg railway line, has allowed study of a section of the ancient Lyon-Trèves route and a series of buildings on either side of it. One of these, which was mostly occupied during the 3rd and early 4th centuries, has yielded a series of hearths and combustion structures. The artefacts unearthed suggest various small-scale activities, while the discovery of two cross-shaped fibulas implies the presence of members of the militia in the second half of the 4th and early 5th centuries.
