Training historical time in the study of teachers from history and social sciences from Argentina, Chile and Spain.

Abstract

in this report we presented some results of a first phase of a research carried out, in initial training, jointly by UAB (Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain), UNCO (National University of Comahue, Argentina) and UAH (Alberto Hurtado University, Santiago de Chile). This is a mixed (qualitative) research focused on the understanding and development of some temporary concepts specific to the Historical Time, future teachers and teachers of primary education, as well as future teachers of history in secondary schools. The fundamental objective of this research is to obtain a portrait of the initial situation of our students in relation to the construction of the Historical Time Metaconcept and thus to be able to assess the initial training of our universities in relation to the construction of temporary contracts and to make the needs identified in this regard visible. This is why we start from the application of a first research instrument. This is a questionnaire with mostly open questions, which makes it possible to analyse the conceptualisation, mastery and application of journalisation, regularity, contemporanity, change and permanence and, in turn, assess our students’ ability to circulate on the past — present — future axis.
