Abstract
This work is part of an extensive study that we are carrying out on Health in the rural world of Castile in the 18th century and specifically, in the Villa de Yecla (Murcia). Based on existing documents in the Historical Archive of Notarial Protocols, we describe the inventory of a medicinal apothecary where 556 simple and compound medications are listed, in addition to the pharmacy tools. It so happens that the owner of the pharmacy was a real visitor to these establishments in the Kingdom of Murcia, so we found it interesting to analyze the procedure of these inspection visits, as well as the comparison of the inventory with that of other eighteenth century medicinal apothecaries published in the literature. Additionally, we studied 67 medical prescriptions conserved in the documentation of various judicial files initiated for non-payment of the same, between the years 1738 and 1755. The structure of a medical prescription of the time is commented and the process of preparation of medicines.
