This work brings an approximation of the challenges for advancing access to equality, non-discrimination and a life free of violence for women in rural areas. Lack of access to these rights and behaviour of discrimination and violence that violate them together with other implicit human rights prevent their enjoyment and effective exercise. Actions to prevent, address, punish and eradicate them are a priority in the context of the system of universal protection of the human rights of women, in particular rural women. This is why, in view of the continuing practice of such violatory behaviour in certain areas of the exercise of women’s rights, the content of international instruments which establish, in a positive sense or to do, the actions and measures aimed at ensuring effective access, enjoyment and exercise of the rights to equality, non-discrimination, a life free of violence, as well as addressing, preventing, sanctioning and eradicating discrimination and violence against women will be analysed.
