The graphic reason in the North China Amant of Marguerite Duras: visualisation of the literatian character as a vector for transmission.

Abstract

[search book] The Observatory of Contemporary Imimagination L’Amant de la China du Nord is one of the latest texts written by Marguerite Duras: it marks one of the endpoints of a past writing life, and definitively closes the IndoChinese cycle tracing the them and its (many) variationsof the meeting with the Chinese friend. Much less popular than his hypotext L’Amant, there is still a novel of great interpretative richness, because everything that has made durassian mythology is so successful. The genesis of the novel is quite special: in the early 90s Jean-Jacques Annaud chose to attack the literary mastodonte L’Amant. Marguerite Duras is a consultant, but very quickly relations between director and author are deteriorating: Mr Duras was excluded from the project. The Lover is encouraged by a furious writer to see his book in this way trafficked, and in the durassian literary myth where real and fictional written life intersects all his denatured personal history. She rewrites her own version of the history of love between the child and Chinese and published in 1991 The Amant of North China, a film script disguised in Roman, where ever written and orality intersects and decreases.
