Abstract
Grigor Ab-Faraj (1226-1286), known as his Syriac name as Bar EbrEU-level, was elected in 1264 as a ‘maphrian’ of the Syro-Orthodox Church, the highest dignity after the Patriarch of Antioche. He is considered to be the last major Syrian language writer.
