Abstract
Acts of the International Colloquium "Francophonie and Global Governance: views of Africa "held in Kinshasa on 23-25 May 2012; led by Isodore Ndaywel è Nziem, Julien Kilanga Musinde and Emmanuel Locha MATESO. 4th cover: This book is the collection of the main texts presented at the International Colloquium of French-speaking cultural, economic and political academics and actors meeting in Kinshasa in May 2012 as part of the environmental and accompanying events of the Fourth Summit of La Francophonie. Grouped into 5 chapters corresponding, mutatis mutandis, to the main lines of intervention of Francophonie, the views expressed here relate to the role and place of this organisation in globalisation. The speakers therefore chose to examine the current position of Francophonie with regard to issues relating to the Summit’s central theme: environment and economy, seen as rather innovative areas of intervention. They also included in their analysis the traditional areas of interest of Francophonie: culture, language, education, diplomacy... The achievements of French-speaking operators in these different sectors have gone through an examination of their relevance and impact in inclusive development, from an African point of view, first of all in the context of a multipolar world. The purpose of these analyses carried out by specialists from different backgrounds, in a multidisciplinary context, was to define the avenues for a change that ensures the emergence of an influential, modern Francophonia in response to the rapid changes that our planet is undergoing. A Francophonie that is “a major player in the emergence and roots of inclusive, accountable and democratic global governance”. The book ends with a document — programme: ‘Kinshasa Call’, which calls for the mobilisation of all French-speaking people in order to build together a French-speaking geo-cultural and geostrategic space.
