Abstract
This paper presents the physical education tendencies in the educational system in Venezuela. Several official documents (1996 & 1998) related with the education policy in Venezuela were reviewed and are presented here. It is observed that they inforce the teaching of physical education at the basic level. A documental research was used and it was compared with existing documents and literary review. In the analysis it is observed the importance that physical education has to improve and increase the motor skills abilities and capacities of children. After revieweing the documents it is observed that, so far, the syllabus of physical education at the Bolivarian schools have not suffered many changes, it is a discussion that is just starting.
