Inclusion of toddlers with disabilities in day care facilities

Abstract

International audience In an inclusive perspective of children with disabilities, the French law 2005-102 of 11 February 2005 stipulates the right to register every child with disabilities in the school closest to their home, however the child’s early development (prior to three years old) as well as its admission in child care facilities is omitted. We present a synthesis of recent scientific literature, going from 2007 to 2018, highlighting the interest of admission to day care for parents of children with disabilities. We will also address the limits, barriers and facilitators identified in these scientific contributions.
