Pedagogies of decision: decide with audiences in socio-cultural animation

A reading of the literature on youth participation, appear very distant approaches. Some are focused on the possibility for young people to choose; others are focused on learning for young people, protocols creation of laws and the parliamentary game. But what effects occur if we allow individuals to decide what concerns? This thesis seeks to answer this question by dipping into the philosophy of the Frankfurt School (Habermas, Honneth) to build the process of individualization, socialization processes developed so singular. It also offers an ethnographic immersed in teaching practices, developed over nearly fifteen years, which are based on this principle, promoting the daily decision making of the public with community workers. These practices located in areas of social housing (cited relocation and hlm) show the implications of a renewed approach to social work based on the principles of social cohesion and social inclusion. This thesis also gets to work a little exploration of the sociocultural dimension: the spatial dimension. The space appears as an operator situations, fundamental in the work, social, community workers. This point is highlighted by a socio-historical process starting from the camps to contemporary practices of social intervention.
