This thesis depicts the story of a deviating, yet modellant, rehearted and instantly represented relationship at the end of the Middle Ages. In an attempt to define medieval hagiographic parenthood — a concept which appears paradoxical from the outset, since the hagiography is intended to minimise the importance of terrestrial family ties in favour of spiritual ties — the importance of this thesis is based on the establishment of a triangulation between family, hagiography and images.
