Representation, body and sound: dramatic representation of teenagers rescued from trafficking networks in the city of Quito.

Abstract

it would be worth saying that my interest in l@s adolescents was inspired by a script from the American filmmaker Harmony Korine. The script of the film was “KIDS” and although the interest in this research does not lie in cinema, semi-otic, let alone in the creation of Korine, I could discover on that tape the tip of an iceberg that would then open before my eyes and which still need to be explored today. I refer on the one hand to adolescence and its power exercises through ‘modes of representation’. the latter is linked to concepts of aggression, its differences, relationships and why not to say it, crisis. During this investigation, these practices will be linked to “art”, meaning representation processes and power exercises. This means trying to rescue art as a method of creation in the exercise of power by teenagers through their representation. Art as a representative agenciation-building process that seeks to empower subjects through their own expression. In this case, the aim is to define what is conceived as a Subject. The existence of a current Code of Children and Adolescence in Ecuador has meant a legal achievement, but has also led to epistemological breakage around how to bring us closer to teenagers. If the adolescent was subjected to rights, he became subject to rights. The concept has therefore changed. In this way, phenomena such as labour and sexual exploitation, for example, could be re-visited and discussed in relation to l@s adolescents.
