International audience The concept of spirituality is not new and there is no consensus on it. Several are the philosophical, religious and scientific views and influences that impel the understanding of this theme. Studies on the measurement of spirituality in France are scarce. We found only four studies (Barbier-Bouvet, 2015; Mandhouj, 2015; Branchi, 2014; Velasco et Rioux, 2009). This is one of the reasons that has aroused our interest in developing a research about the expressions of spirituality in France. On the other hand, we find the inventory ESI-R elaborated by MacDonald (2000) that meets our demand. The statistical implicative analysis of the ESI-R involved four studies: analysis of the similarity relation; the implication between the ESI-R items; cohesive analysis and the last study was characterized by the process of reducing the elements research instrument. The results demonstrate that the dimension of existential well-being (EWB) is independently of other dimensions and implies a life without problems and to feel happy. The dimensions of religiosity (REL) and cognitive orientation to spirituality (COS) reinforce the idea that people with a greater propensity to religiousness tend to have greater understanding of the expressions of spirituality. The dimensions paranormal beliefs (PAR) and cognitive orientation of Spirituality (COS) reiterate the thought that people with greater sensitivity and better perception of the spiritual plane (paranormal, mediums, spiritual gurus, etc.) tend to have a greater understanding about the expressions of spirituality.
