contribution to an Erik Skare website is a post-doc researcher at CERI in the framework of the European project PREVEX (Preventing Violent Extremism in the Balkans and the MENA: Strengthening Resilience in Enabling Environments). Before joining CERI, Erik was a PhD student at the University of Oslo where he wrote a thesis on the history of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). He is the author of two works to be published, A History of Palestinian Islamic Jihad: Faith, Awareness, and Revolution in the Middle East (Cambridge University Press) and Palestinian Islamic Jihad: Islamist writings on Resistance and Religion (I.B.
