Abstract
Since translation has entered the academic context, translators try to propose the best way to train future translators, thus showing their concern to make their discipline a constant field of research. In Canada, this concern for innovation is very present in the training of translators. Despite excellent progress in this direction, research into translation pedagogy could benefit from the interdisciplinary link between the training of translators and the rich tradition of research in education sciences. The aim of our reflection is, on the one hand, to put forward a number of arguments in favour of consolidating the interdisciplinary links between translators and education sciences and, on the other hand, to emphasise the importance of basing the training of translators on better collaboration between translators’ trainers and translation service providers in Canada.
