Closed Access: pedagogical game on the open access

Abstract

Closed Access is an educational escape game on open access to scientific publications, created by the Michel Serres library of the Lyon Central School in 2019. The aim of this escape game is to raise awareness among players of the issues at stake and how free access works, regardless of the initial level of knowledge of the subject. You will find in the files deposited all the information and information needed to organise this escape game: — a general document detailing the narrative pitch, the necessary material, the installation of the room, the construction of the enigmas and provides useful documents for the masters game (list of solutions and codes used, checklist used); instructions for the enigmas, documents to be held in the room, decorative elements, etc. Our intention was not to do a training course or a disguised workshop, but to offer a real game that respects the codes and mechanics of this type of game and offers both a fun experience and a real challenge for the participants. As designed, the escape game therefore requires a certain amount of material and offers a rather noticed difficulty, but feel free to adapt and simplify it according to your needs and context.
