Abstract
The article describes, defines and points out some analytical possibilities for the sociological theory of the sportive field based on Bourdieu sociology. It sets out the explanatory outline of the sportive field theory, proposing topics and possibilities for its use in research into sportive practices. The Bourdieu analytical scheme is broken down into functional and structural. In both, sportive practices and modalities can be analysed as special camps, relatively autonomous in economic, political, religious and social camps. The sociology of Bourdieu identifies relations and associations between the social space and the sports space, points to possible homologies between the positions held by certain social actors in both areas, even without structural determinism. Bourdieu’s analytical proposal for sport is an invitation to critically think and investigate the economy, state, politics and its relations with sport, culture and cotian life.
