`titrebThe Desire for Parenthood and Some Paradoxes`/titreb The desire for and the welcoming of a child are always impregnated by paradoxes: some are related to normal processes of growth and development. Others are linked with unfinished Gestalts from the life of the mother, but also from the father’s life and from past generations that become reactivated during the experience of motherhood. Some of these paradoxes, which can arise during pregnancy and in early interactions, are mentioned here or viewed in the light of the Gestalt theory.
