Abstract
The use of voluntary work in social organisations is an important phenomenon which makes it possible to assert that its actors are fully involved in the institutions’ professional activities. The question of the relationship between their actions and those of employees is therefore a key issue in terms of professionalisation. Although the contours of this group are quite well described in scientific and professional literature, there is no reference to define the major issues at stake in the relationship between these two categories of actors. By questioning the associations concerned by this issue, we propose to feed into the debate on the sociology of professions applied to social action associations, by identifying models of articulation, the categorisation of different types of volunteering and a proposal for a collective resolute debate process.
