Abstract
We study the phenomenon of prostitution as a form of extreme patriarchal of violence against women, girls and adolescents, analyzing its origins and evolution, and making evident the subordination of women and male domination (patriarchy). Feminist struggles against prostitution throughout history proposed its abolition and divergent feminist ideas on this subject. We raise the issue of the responsibility of men as consumers of sexual services in cases of sexual exploitation of women. We make an account of the United Nations treaties and conventions aimed at preventing and eradicating prostitution and trafficking in persons by considering two situations that describe the phenomena of extreme violence against women
