Conversation with a young entrepreneur sleeping on the street

Abstract

Young homeless people have mostly experienced a family break and a deviating school path: buoyant school, exclusion from schools, redoubling, dropout during training, low graduation, absence of a diploma. Their career paths are, to a certain extent, a continuation of the school path. Homeless episodes weaken the link with school and work and cause further breaks. Young people living on the streets are either unemployed or working poor. They alternate between legal and illegal jobs and carry out ‘gifts’. Some choose, such as Pascal, to engage in a form of entrepreneurship through the status of micro-government.In the following interview, Pascal, 29, a young person who is homeless, is confident about his relationship with the family, school, work and entrepreneurship.
