Abstract
this text, which values the memory of Sara SAWMA’s Master (co-author) in the framework of the USEK MBA (Lebanon), was presented at the LAAS Colloquium. Starting a research programme to study women’s entrepreneurial intent across the Middle East while taking into account the religious factor, this preliminary work focuses on the Lebanese context and is based on a questionnaire survey conducted among 140 students in Lebanon. The results collected reflect the persistence of socio-cultural bias that can hamper female entrepreneurship and the importance of perceived discrimination. However, the conclusions of this study are more nuanced than those suggested by common meaning and may reflect a gradual shift in mentalities.
