Abstract

This article presents a review of the national Tandem studies on the quality of interaction and communication of parents and educators in collaborative activities with the pre-school child. To this end, the results of all published articles are organised in the following areas: authoring of the product; type of product produced components, materials and tools used to produce the product; interactive quality; verbal communication; factors linked to the child and factors linked to the adult. The data, which are exploratory due to the small sample size, above all indicate that the way in which Parents act is distinct from educators. Gender differences are also found, as different opportunities are offered to girls and girls in carrying out the tasks. The body of knowledge accumulated makes it possible to understand how communication facilitates and triggers the questioning and reflection of the child, and how the quality of the interaction that motivates it to participate in that space.
