Integrating, defining, suppressing and preventing “femicide/femicide” in Latin America

Femicide and feminicide generally designate the killings of women in Latin America. This deadly violence is such that States mobilize their legislative and judicial apparatus in an attempt to put an end to it. However, this phenomenon seems to increase. To explain this paradox from a legal point of view, this study analyses the different legislations through four axes : the integration of the crime of femicide/feminicide into the existing normative frame, its definition, its repression and its prevention, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages.
