Socio-historical changes and new forms of activities in university education situations: A.S.I. approach for the study of an educational scheme based on the construction of designed banks using software

Abstract

International audience This paper adopts the socio-historical perspective of the psychisme and aims at examining a college level instruction tool to widen students' analytical schemas for understanding pedagogical situations. We situated ourselves within the continuity of the analysis of the role of the image in the construction and conceptualization of reality, this time through a software tool within the theoretical perspective of an expanded instrumental mediation and the concepts of instrumentation and de-instrumentation. We worked with a group of 14 Masters students in Education Sciences. Our empirical work focuses upon the analysis of two kinds of data from narratives and comics to characterize the pedagogical situations that addessed the students in progressive situations. The two forms of semiotic registers do not call for the same psychic learning processes and relate to specific aspects that are relevant to students' learning and development processes. In the case of comics, build by using the software, we have identified the impact of a cultural tools in the widening of students' analytical processes. The Statistical Implicative Analysis, mainly from the perspective of concepts of quasi-implication and graphical representation produced by the CHIC software, constitutes a pertinent and even indispensable tool for the conceptual analysis of the theoretical model implicit in our research study.
