Abstract
This volume of the magazine Siècle 21 offers its readers a selection of texts unprecedented in France from a number of British writers who are contemporary, recognised or promising. The aim is to give so many and big faces of contemporary British literature, both in terms of the identity of its authors and the heterogeneity of the topics discussed, that it is questionable whether it is still possible to talk about it in the singular or whether it would be time to opt for the plural, as we speak of new literatures. The authors include Julian Barnes, Jeannette Winterson, Romesh Gunesekera, Jane Rogers, Helen Simpson, Alison Fell and Hassan Abdulrazzak.
