On the teaching and learning of citizens culture: a task from the school

Abstract

This article aims to carry out a reflective exercise around the school's task of teaching and learning the civic culture of its children. Following this purpose, the understanding of the development of the social development of boys and girls from the social knowledge environments and the description of the socializing agents of boys and girls are assumed thematically first. These agents are the family, the school, the teacher, colleagues, the media and the ICT. Having these references, the school is presented as the learning scenario for the citizen culture. For this purpose, it reflects on the social adaptations of violent and aggressive environments in School Institutions, the construction of the school climate and the value of school environments as educators to coexist citizenly with the social environment.
